Home office furniture in Minneapolis and the Twin Cities.

Most home office furniture is built for a few hours a week. If you work from home full time, you want to prioritize comfort and quality. Office Furniture TC sells the same commercial-grade desks, chairs, and storage we put into offices across the Twin Cities, sized and priced for a single room at home. If you are shopping for home office furniture in Minneapolis and you want something that will still be solid in ten years, this is the difference between buying once and buying again.

What "commercial grade" actually means.

A chair sold at a big box store is typically built and warranted for a few hours of use per day. Commercial seating is vengineered for eight or more hours a day in an office, five days a week, for years. The mechanisms are rated for more cycles, the foam holds it shaped longer, the casters are built for the floor you actually have, and the warranties run for years than months.

The same holds for desks. A commercial laminate work surface resists scratching, heat, and moisture in ways a residential veneer does not — which matters more than people expect when a desk lives under a monitor arm and coffee cup for a decade.

How to set up a home office that works.

Desks

Straight desks for a small rooms, L-shaped desks when you need a second surface, and height adjustable desks if you want to stand for part of the day. Most home offices work well with a 60" or 66" desk — a 72" starts to crowd a spare bedroom.

Chairs

This is where your money is best spent. Task chairs with real lumbar adjustment, executive chairs if you want something more substantial, and heavy duty seating rated for higher weight capacities.

Storage

Bookcases, filing cabinets, and mobile pedestals that slide under a desk. A two-drawer lateral file usually holds more than people expect, and doubles as a printer stand.

The extras that matter more than they sound

Monitor arms free up most of the desk surface and fix screen height — the most common ergonomic problem that we see. Keyboard trays and power modules handle the rest.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Home office-specific questions

Can I buy office furniture as an individual, or do I need a business?

Anyone can buy from us. No business account, no minimum order, no reseller requirement. Plenty of our customers are furnishing one room at home.

Is commercial office furniture too big for a home office?

Some of it is, which is why we help you pick. Commercial furniture comes in the same size range as residential furniture, and often in more sizes. The difference is how it is built, not how large it is.

Will it look like office park furniture?

Not unless you want it to. Current commercial finishes include Walnut, white, light oak tones, and warm grays, and the seating lines we carry are designed for open modern offices rather than 1990s cubicle farms.

Can I try a chair before buying?

Yes. Book a showroom appointment and we will pull several options in your price range so you can compare them back to back.

Do you deliver and assemble?

Yes, throughout the Twin Cities. Some items ship assembled, some need light assembly, and we can handle the setup on larger pieces.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock items typically ship within a few business days. Custom finishes and configurations could take longer.
